I wouldn't actually know about smuttier. Or anything. I just borrowed it from the library to fill a boring couple hours with background noise, and didn't check if it was the Lynch thing. At HPL? 'course not!
The Lynch "Drive" got right on my wick. I felt like Id wasted two hours watching it. Fucking David Lynch, do I never learn? "Falls" was a mediocre attempt at a neo-noir, but since it had a plot and characters that didnt change names halfway through, it was far more interesting. The (posthumous) attractive brunette is better known as "Oscar Winner Jennifer Connelly", from Labyrinth, and various other less virginal things since.
"Of course it did, its a fairy. What did you expect it to do?"
That is a great movie. Some fascinating tidbits: -It was written by Terry Jones from Monty Python; -The Cat from Red Dwarf is one of the red puppets that take their heads off- if you listen closely, you can tell its his voice; -The small actor inside Hoggle was a Lady.
Marvellous movie, even with David Bowies highlighted, permed mullet.
